Welcome to the latest CheckPoint” newsletter! Here is an overview of what’s been going on during the last months of 2019. We are starting a new decade and I am looking forward to some great new developments for Relentless!

USA Trip
Most of October was spent in the States  – the time was split between visiting donors, recruiting new donors, and spending time with family. During the last week of October, I traveled to England to attend a conference about working with people with dissociative disorders. I also met with anti-trafficking organizations such as Chab Dai and Ella’s home.

Speaking and Teaching
Luephana University’s (Lüneburg, Germany) program in Governance and Human Rights held their annual conference in November and the theme was human trafficking. During this single day conference, I presented two workshops on prevention of human trafficking and gave a brief presentation on the role of health professionals. Several other speakers and I participated on a panel and the synergy between us was very encouraging. I made more great contacts with Sisters and ECPAT Deutschland and we are already making plans for working together in the future.

In Berlin I continue to meet with the social workers of an aftercare assistance program as well as do psychoeducation classes for their women in care. Another local group is starting an outreach project and I held a couple of training events to prepare them before they start. Preparation is key!

German Language studies continue to be my main activity as well as one of my main challenges.
