Although I’ve generally been hard on the media for the way that it addresses human trafficking, I’ve got good news today. A link to “The Life” came through an email and it looked compelling enough so I clicked on it. I expected to see which latest star has jumped on the sexy trafficking bandwagon but to my surprise, found something solid and worth viewing. There is no white guy rescuing a brown girl, and no rock star video, just a girl in pain. This link takes you to the trailer and a review by Holly Austin Smith, a trafficking survivor and advocate.

The trailer for The Life, a new TV series, is compelling, yet subtle – realistic, but not graphic. Organizations such as GEMS (Girls Education and Mentoring Services), Polaris Project, and Safe Horizon have endorsed this project.
